Camp Reflections

On camp we went to lake mapourika for a swim. Everybody was jumping off the jetty and doing flips the water was freezing. There were two tyres in the water that people were jumping onto and there was also lots of seaweed. We had to wear swimming caps that were all different colours ours were white and orange. After we got out we had lunch and set of to the kiwi center.

When we arrived at the Kiwi center we got a big talk to by the kiwi tour guides about what we already knew about kiwis and what we didn’t know about. After that we got given our sheet of activities that we could do in between the times that we were seeing the kiwis. We went in groups and seen two baby kiwis playing and fighting.

After that we went to the top ten holiday park where we were staying and played on the park and unpacked our bags and got settled in to our cabins. In my Bunk group I had Ella, Cleo and Ella’s mum Tania. It had one set of bunks a single bed and a double bed.

After a while we had tea and then went for a walk to see the glow worms that was just down the road. There were lots of them all over the track and I fell into a ditch banged into a tree and run into a prickle bush and hit in the stomach.

The next day we went and walked to the Glacier. It was raining some of the time and other times was all right.On the way we went on a cool swing bridge that was long and wobbly. It was so cool looking at the Glacier because i had gone befor but I was little so I didn't remember it so this was the first time I looked at one. It took 4 hours and a half  all up plus all the stops one the way we passed a really blue but had lots of algae.

After the walk we went geocaching around the town and had to find clues of where the containers were which had  little sentences that you had to collect to make up a big sentence at the end. They were hid in funny places like bushes and signs.
