Self respect

This term we have been learning about self respect. In Whanau Time  Mrs O gave us a task to create a presentation showing what self respect means. 

Some of the things we have been working on are : 

 Looking after chrome books 

 Making sure you look presentable

 Looking after books, stationary etc

 Labeled clothing 

 Using manners.

Writing an exposition / argument

In writing we have just started learning about cause and effect which is a action that leads to a consequence . We have also been creating a scaffold for our writing which is the bare bones of an argument. Here is my word bank that we can use for our writing.

Numeracy: This Week for our Work Book we are learning about  Probability and Ratio. We have to complete this by the end of the week to mark and check our progress. 

Book week 2016

Book week : This week for book week we have done lots of activities all involving books. On Monday we had a chalk art on our court which means we could draw our favorite characters with chalk. 

For book week we had to design a cool project for our door. We have two doors so we designed two different book themes. For one door we had the BFG  so we did long legs that went all the way up the wall so it looked like he was going through the roof because he is so tall. We put a shelf that we filled up with colorful positions  that we had made.On the other door we had Charlie and the chocolate factory. We made lollie pops candy canes, golden tickets and chocolate bars. We also made an Oompa loompa with old materials we found.  



Then on Tuesday we had  a PJ party at 6 till 8 in our school library where we were read to by some teachers and we also got to read to Family and friends.We also had prizes. At the start we put our names in a bag and then out through the night 3 names got read and they got a book for a prize. We also had Buddy reading which was were one of the younger classed come to our class and we paired up and read some books.

On Thursday We had wacky Thursday but is         was supposed  to be wacky Wednesday but we had a slight occasion that we had to go to. I was a nerd and I had nerd glasses and braces with badges on them some were for school but I also had others for gymnastics. 

Today we had book character day. Which is when we dress up as our favorite book character. I am Bad Jelly the Witch of Bad Jelly the Witch. This is one of my favorite books because I love the description the writing and I have the CD and I listen to it all the time. It has really good Sound effects.   

Every day this week our school librarian, Mrs Costello would hide a golden ticket around our school and we had to find them. I didn't find any but someone in my class found one. They were hide in some funny places like under the library desk.
