Refection week 4 term 3 Topic

 Topic : This is my topic, we have been doing more Olympic studies. Our task was to pick three events that we would compete in if we were in the Olympics. I would pick Swimming first because I love to swim and I'm good at it.  

Refection week 4 term 3 Numeracy

Numeracy : This week I have been leaning to know how many tens are in a big number. What I learnt is that if you put a line in front of your ones column it would be all the numbers before that. I found this confusing at the start but then I found it easy. 

Numeracy: I have also been working on fractions I have learnt how to make up a word problem using all the things I know about fractions , also what equivalent fractions are. The last thing I learnt was how to simplify fractions.  

 

Refection Week 4 Term 3 Literacy

Literacy : This is one of my literacy activities First I had to use punctuation to enhance meaning which means If I had : I like cooking my family or friends and I like cooking, my family and friends. I found this easy to complete. I also had another activity that I had to read a page of the book and record me saying it with the right expression but I didn't get time to screencastify that.  

Literacy : This is my last literacy activity. I had to use fan boys and 2 Maori words to complete a sentence for example For: I went to the Paka (which just whakatuhera today) For a kapa haka festival.

Summary: This is one of favorite books. Geronimo Stilton goes on lots of adventures and has a hard time trying to sicced them. He has lots of twists and turns along the way can he  complete them all?

 Summary : This is a cool story because it

is like Cinderella but   It has rumpled Stilton 

skin in the middle of it. I rate this book a 9/10 because 

The animation is cool. 

Book week 2016

Book week : This week for book week we have done lots of activities all involving books. On Monday we had a chalk art on our court which means we could draw our favorite characters with chalk. 

For book week we had to design a cool project for our door. We have two doors so we designed two different book themes. For one door we had the BFG  so we did long legs that went all the way up the wall so it looked like he was going through the roof because he is so tall. We put a shelf that we filled up with colorful positions  that we had made.On the other door we had Charlie and the chocolate factory. We made lollie pops candy canes, golden tickets and chocolate bars. We also made an Oompa loompa with old materials we found.  



Then on Tuesday we had  a PJ party at 6 till 8 in our school library where we were read to by some teachers and we also got to read to Family and friends.We also had prizes. At the start we put our names in a bag and then out through the night 3 names got read and they got a book for a prize. We also had Buddy reading which was were one of the younger classed come to our class and we paired up and read some books.

On Thursday We had wacky Thursday but is         was supposed  to be wacky Wednesday but we had a slight occasion that we had to go to. I was a nerd and I had nerd glasses and braces with badges on them some were for school but I also had others for gymnastics. 

Today we had book character day. Which is when we dress up as our favorite book character. I am Bad Jelly the Witch of Bad Jelly the Witch. This is one of my favorite books because I love the description the writing and I have the CD and I listen to it all the time. It has really good Sound effects.   

Every day this week our school librarian, Mrs Costello would hide a golden ticket around our school and we had to find them. I didn't find any but someone in my class found one. They were hide in some funny places like under the library desk.
